T. Kem Oberholtzer, Th.M. Ph.D.
Dr. T. Kem Oberholtzer is Professor of Biblical Literature at Grace
School of Theology and Teaching Pastor at Faith Bible Church in The
Woodlands, Texas. (2002-present)
Kem received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from Stephen F. Austin
University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He graduated magna cum laude,
with honors in Hebrew from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon,
receiving a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Theology (Th.M.) in
1981. While at Western Seminary, Kem was selected as one of the
top six senior preachers in his graduating class.
Following his graduation from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1984,
with his Doctor of Theology (Ph.D.) in Biblical Literature. Kem served
as Pastor of Victoria Bible Church in Victoria, Texas, from 1984-1990.
Prior to teaching at Grace School of Theology, Kem served for ten
years (1990-2000) as Professor of Biblical Literature at Phoenix
Seminary, in Phoenix, Arizona. For two of those ten years, he also
served as the school’s Academic Dean.
Kem’s life passion is creatively communicating the Scriptures and
encouraging others to deepen their walk in Jesus Christ. He is
deeply committed to the discipleship and development of godly
character in men and women.
He maintains an active teaching and preaching schedule in various
ministries and churches both in the U.S. and overseas.
Kem has written articles for “Bib. Sac.” (theological journal), “Kindred
Spirit,” “Psychology for Living,” Grace Evangelical Society, and study
notes on “1 & 2 Timothy” for the Thomas Nelson New King James
Study Bible. His current writing projects are commentaries on the
Epistle of Hebrews and another on The Life of Christ.
He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, Society of
Biblical Literature, Free Grace Alliance, Grace Evangelical Society,
and the Pre-Trib Research Center.
Kem and his wife, Jan, have two children and two grandchildren.
They reside in The Woodlands, Texas.
